So good news!
Despite my body being pretty still from yesterday's body bruising sand boarding adventure, I am happy that my right elbow is not sprained as I may have suspected. With some rest and Ibprofen, I am able to move it more freely than I did yesterday. That in itself was such a relief!
Both Eva and I thought we would sleep like babies after yesterday but we both had problems sleeping as it was very hot for us. Ontop of that, us knowing that we had to get up about 6 am to take on the Nasca Tour didn't help. We probably got at least 2 hours of sleep... I felt as though I haven't as I was always waking up. But Eva assured me that I have been sleeping since I did snore (*blush*blush).
We got up and had breakfast. It was the same breakfast as we had in Lima - bread, butter and/jam, tea/coffee. Was nice to have such a simple bnreakfast to start the day! We went to the front desk to book the Nasca Tour. They provided us with some kind of reciept voucher of some sort that we keep to show the company we booked the tour in when we arrive at the airport in Nasca. We thought being like any other tour we went through that all is taken care of ...gotta have faith esp when you don´t speak the language well enough to understand what is going on. So off we went with a driver driving us to Ica to Soyuz Bus Station. There he booked out one way to Nasca. We were a bit confused if we needed to pay ourselves when we are coming back. By then the driver had already left and we were already on the bus. Faith... gotta trust all will be good and if not...just go with the flow and manage things along the way. No use of getting all cray about it.
The ride was about 2 hours long. More than what we expected. We passed by many oasis towns and many dunes and dry land. But within this landscape, you always tend to see some kind of lush greenery. Pretty cool! I slept most the way there. And when we finally got to Nasca, we just took the taxi to the airport. One lady helped us at the terminal. People here are very friendly and helpful and we love them for it.
Once we arrived at the terminal, we went to the company that we booked through then waited. Took a bit of time as it was very busy and it seemed like the bigger tours took priority as they were more in a schedule crunch than us which is understandable. Our turn came and off we went. Love flying and the sensation of it. It was hard at first as the pilot would say ¨there is the whale...¨ I was like ... where is the whale...and frantically looked so I can take pics and see it ... it was as though I was living in the pages of Where is Waldo. You get used to it as it went along. It can be a bit nausiating as the pilot flies and tips the plane so you can see the Nasca Lines.
A tip is to stay where you are. If you look at the opposite window, you get nausiated. I did once it a while and had to remind myself that the pilot will fly around the area twice so both sides get a chance to see. By the time the parrot hit I can see Eva in the corner of my eye vomotting in the bag! I was like oh crap! I hate vomit and anything associated with vomit so I had to relax myself and breathe so I don´t do the same. I swear I didn´t even look at Eva or anywhere near my left (where she sat) as I didn´t want to be doing the same thing. I just prayed that there was no smell or I would be in trouble! When we finally landed back on earth, Eva took a breather and it was a good thing as we were guided to another driver who took us to the bus station to get us tickets back to Ica. perhaps the incident was meant to happen¿
Anyways, all went well on the way back. We both slept most of the way so it felt faster to get back.
